You can never know too many beauty tips, can you? Here are 3 of our favorite tricks from Huffington Post articles to help you get even prettier than you already are. (P.S. Looking for top notch beauty supply items? Debra M Salon, a hair and nail salon in Poughkeepsie, sells makeup and Paul Mitchell products!) 1. Hydrate your hair, especially during the cold winter months. Weather and environment can wreak havoc on your locks, just like diet and poor haircare can. Regularly condition, use a deep conditioning mask every week and rub in a few drops of moisturizing oil both before and after flat ironing. Need more healthy hair tips? Your pillowcase may be causing your breakouts, not your addiction to French fries (although greasy foods probably aren’t helping). Pillowcases can get caked with dirt and oil, which clogs pores and results in blemishes. Wash and change your pillowcases regularly to prevent buildup. Cleaning them matters more than their material, but you should still choose natural fabrics, which breathe better and transfer less oil. Try to wash your pillowcases every three days and avoid using fabric softener. Read more about the link between pillowcases and acne here: Your Pillowcase Might Be Causing Your Breakouts 3. One of the best and most budget-friendly makeup removers around is baby oil, especially when it comes to getting rid of hard-to-remove makeup, like mascara, heavy eyeshadow and liquid liner. Plus, baby oil is extra gentle on skin. Ready to brush up on your makeup application tips? Stop in to our hair salon in Poughkeepsie NY for makeup lessons!
